About MD Trade
Our story: green coffee and cocoa trading since 2002
MD Trade is the soft-commodities division of Marthe Dumortier NV, a Belgian trading group founded in 2002 and based in Wijnegem, near the port of Antwerp. We focus on green coffee and cocoa beans from East and Central Africa: Burundi, Uganda and the Kivu region of the Democratic Republic of Congo.
Our office in Beni (DRC) works directly with farms and cooperatives, and our own farm project near Bukavu in South Kivu keeps us close to how coffee is actually grown. A dedicated team lets us specialise in origin sourcing, quality control, logistics and EU compliance, backed by the network of an established group.

Elvis
MD Trade Representative – Beni, DRC
Elvis is MD Trade's representative in Beni, North Kivu. He works directly with farms and cooperatives across the Kivu region, visits producers, checks the quality of our coffee and cocoa lots and follows them from collection to export. He is our first point of contact on the ground for suppliers and partners in the DRC.
